WCS Canada Associate Conservation Scientist, Dr. Cori Lausen is dedicated to building capacity in Canada’s “bat world”, by training new biologists and supervising Masters and PhD candidates across Canada and the United States.

Training

Dr. Cori Lausen has a PhD in bat ecology. But prior to this, she trained as an educator, and taught high school sciences. When not researching, she has dedicated her spare time to training biologists in specialized bat inventory techniques, including bat acoustics.

Now at WCS Canada as a research and conservation biologist, Cori continues to opportunistically train Canadian biologists, and contributes the proceeds of these courses to WCS Canada’s Bat Program.

Dr. Cori Lausen is an adjunct professor with Thompson Rivers University Department of Biological Sciences. She also has supervised students at University of British Columbia Okanagan and University of Regina. She has been on numerous MSc and PhD committees at these universities and the University of Washington. Students include:
